Loory's work has also appeared widely in magazines and journals, including Tin House[8], Electric Literature[9], Kenyon Review[10], and Gargoyle Magazine.[11] Loory's story "The TV,"[12] first published in the April 12, 2010 issue of The New Yorker, was named a Distinguished Story of the Year in The 2011 Best American Short Stories anthology.[13]

Three of Loory's stories ("The Duck," "The Man and the Moose," and "Death and the Fruits of the Tree") have been heard on This American Life,[14] and many more have been performed at Selected Shorts[15] and WordTheatre.[16] On December 12, 2018, Selected Shorts will be presenting a dance adaptation of Loory's story "The Cape," choreographed by Gabrielle Lamb of Pigeonwing Dance, as part of their "Dance in America" event.[17]
