Lend Lease Infrastructure (formerly Valemus and Bilfinger Berger Australia, trading as Lend Lease) is the second largest construction and engineering specialist business in Australia and a division of Lend Lease Group.[2]

It is active in the civil engineering, building and property, mining and resources, telecommunications, electrical, infrastructure services, engineering services and environmental services industries.[3]

History

Lend Lease Infrastructure was originally established as Bilfinger Berger Australia (BBA) in 2004 as the holding company of Bilfinger Berger AG (BBAG)’s investments in Australia. BBAG had acquired Baulderstone Hornibrook in 1993 and Abigroup in 2004. Bilfinger Berger Services was created in November 2005 by transferring the services businesses owned by Abigroup and Baulderstone to a new services focused company. In November 2009 it was announced that consideration was being given to floating BBA on the Australian Securities Exchange via an initial public offering (IPO)[4] and in June 2010 BBA changed its name to Valemus[2] but the listing was abandoned in July 2010.[5] In March 2011 the company was acquired by Lend Lease Group.[6]

Operations

Lend Lease Infrastructure consists of three operating companies which are autonomous entities:

  • Abigroup
  • Baulderstone
  • Lend Lease Infrastructure Service, formerly Conneq, formerly Bilfinger Berger Services[2]
