Bates (Kent cricketer)

Bates (first name and dates unknown) was an English first-class cricketer who made one appearance for Sir Horace Mann's XI in 1789, scoring one run and holding two catches.[1] Bates played for Mann's team, playing as East Kent, against a West Kent team organised by Stephen Amherst on 29–30 June 1789 at Coxheath Common, Mann's XI winning by eight runs.[2]
