Mildred Nixon Nolan (1905-2003), daughter of John Travis Nixon, was an educator and historian from Oak Ridge in Morehouse Parish. She wrote seventeen articles for The Bastrop Daily Enterprise on Methodism in northeast Louisiana. As chairperson for History and Archives, she was the first woman member of the Council of Ministries of the Louisiana Methodist Conference.[1]
