Baron Schwartz

Baron Schwartz is an American software engineer most notable for his contributions to the MySQL database.

Career

Schwartz is the lead author of High Performance MySQL, 2nd and 3rd ed. (published 2008 and 2012, O'Reilly).[1] He contributed a chapter to Web Operations (published 2010, O'Reilly).[2] He created the Maatkit toolkit for MySQL,[3] for which he received MySQL's 2008 MySQL Code Contributor of the Year Award.[4] He has released a set of templates to monitor MySQL under Cacti.[5] He developed and maintains Innotop,[6] an open source interactive monitoring tool for MySQL and InnoDB. He lives in Charlottesville, Virginia.
