Barbara Casasola (born 16 June 1984) is a London-based Brazil-born fashion designer for CASASOLA, a women's luxury ready-to-wear brand.[1]

Early life and education

Barbara Casasola was born and raised in Brazil. She graduated first in her class in 2007 from Istituto Marangoni, Milan, Italy.

Career

On graduation, Casasola was hired by Roberto Cavalli in Florence as assistant designer for the main women's wear line. Casasola remained there for nearly three years, until she moved to Paris to consult for a number of major fashion houses.

Casasola returned to London in September 2013 for the catwalk debut at White Cube Gallery for her women's luxury ready-to-wear brand, CASASOLA. Her Spring Summer 2014 show was hailed as a "triumphant first showing" by CR Fashion Book.[2] Vogue Italia wrote: “Barbara Casasola has established herself on the fashion scene as one of the most talented fashion designers of the moment”.[3]

She designs from her studio in London and her collections are made in Italy and available at department stores and boutiques such as The Line (New York), Just One Eye (Los Angeles), Joseph (London) and Net-a-Porter (Online). Her work has been worn by Kate Bosworth, Rita Ora, Alicia Vikander and Gwyneth Paltrow.[4]
