Barbara Boyce is a British Labour politician who was Lord Mayor of York from 2017 to 2018 and has been a member of City of York Council since 2009.[2] Boyce, who was widowed in 1994, asked a friend to take the role of Lady Mayoress and along with the Sheriff Gillian Brian and the Sheriff's Lady they formed the first all-female civic party in the 800-year recorded history of the City of York Council.[2][1]
