Balutungi High School is a higher secondary school established in 1961 and located in the village of Balutungi in the Murshidabad district, West Bengal, India.[1]

History

The land for the school was donated by Samsuddin Pandit. He wanted to construct an educational centre in Balutungi village. Pandit and several other people started the school in response to a lack of literacy among the people of Balutungi village, and named it after the village.

The school had just a few students when it opened, but now has more than 2,000 students enrolled. It has become one of the biggest schools in the area.

Recently, Balutungi High School opened a science department, and is constructing a new building for it.
