Balu Kiriyath is an Indian | ( Malayalam ) film lyricist, screenwriter and director. He was born on 29 November 1954 at chithakudathu Nair tharavad ( kiriyathil nairs tharavad) in aluva as son of RS Pillai former principal Indian institute of commerce,and CP Malathy Amma ( rtd teacher government central high school Trivandrum).He was the general secretary of Malayalam Cine Technicians Association (Macta) during 2012. He was the director of Kerala state Film development corporation for 10 years,he was also an executive member Sangeetha nataka academy. Balu was a former Trivandrum district vice president of KSU and then first Trivandrum district President of Kerala students congress ,he was national council member of janatha dal .and now state council member Lok thanthric janatha dal. He served in many positions such as Vyloppilli Samskriti Bhavan member secretary govt of Kerala,jury kerala state film award, jury soorya film award.jury kerala Film producers film award,chairman and vice chairman meet the director and in conversation segment of iifk[1][2] He is married to Lakshmi and the couple is blessed with two Children. His popular album is vishadaganangal produced by Dr k j yesydas
