Bahchisaraytsev House
The Bahchisaraytsev House (Russian: Дом Бахчисарайцева, tr. Dom Bahchisaraytseva) is a historic house in Rostov-on-Don. Located at the intersection of Socialist street and Budenovsky Prospekt (Pr. Budennovsky, 26/57). The building was built in the early twentieth century and belonged to Bahchisaraystev Grigory Khristoforovich, the vowel of the Rostov city Duma. (The real name of Bahchisaraya Krikor Khristoforovich, is listed as the owner of the house in appraisal documents and in the list of cultural heritage objects of regional importance, Rostov-on-don). In 1910 Bahchisaraytsev G. H. led the Council to organize the first Celebration of arbor.[1]
Currently, the building is included in the register of monuments of architecture.[2]
History
The building was built in the art Nouveau style in the early twentieth century . A characteristic feature of the tenement houses of the late nineteenth – early twentieth centuries is the location of the commercial premises on the ground floor of the building. The first floor of the house rented, commercial and industrial company "Link", engaged in sale of cars "Lorelei" joint stock companies "Rudolf Ley".[3]
In the 1920s, the building was nationalized — the upper floors were reserved for residential purposes, and in the basement put the student cafeteria.[4]
