Baecheon Jo clan (Hangul: 배천 조씨; Hanja: 白川 趙氏) was one of the Korean clans. Their Bon-gwan was in Paechon County, South Hwanghae Province. According to the research in 2015, the number of Baecheon Jo clan was 75978. Their founder was Jo Ji rin. He was a 3rd son of Zhao Dezhao who was a eldest son of Emperor Taizu of Song in Song dynasty. He immigrated to Goryeo in 979 in order to avoid conflicts and was settled in Paechon County, Hwanghae Province. He served as Jinzi Guanglu Daifu (hanja: 金紫光祿大夫) during Hyeonjong of Goryeo’s reign.[1]
