BMJ Open is a peer-reviewed open access medical journal that was established in 2011.[1] It is published by BMJ and considers papers addressing research questions in clinical medicine, public health and epidemiology.[1] The editor-in-chief is Adrian Aldcroft.[2]

Abstracting and indexing

Since 2014 the journal is included in the Index Medicus and in MEDLINE.[3] The journal is abstracted and indexed in Scopus[4] and the Science Citation Index Expanded.[5] According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2017 impact factor of 2.413.[6]
