Brett Joseph Hermsen (born December 1, 1989) is an American professional baseball player who is a free agent.

Hermsen grew up in Masonville, Iowa. He attended West Delaware High School in Manchester, Iowa. The Minnesota Twins selected Hermsen in the sixth round of the 2008 MLB Draft. Hermsen signed, rather than follow through on his commitment to attend Oregon State University.[1]

In 2012, Hermsen was named the Twins' best minor league pitcher.[2] Before the 2013 season, the Twins added Hermsen to their 40-man roster to protect him from the Rule 5 draft.[3][4] After pitching to a 1-10 win-loss record and a 4.81 earned run average during the 2013 season, they removed him from the 40-man roster that offseason.[5] The Twins assigned Hermsen to extended spring training in 2014.[6]
