Bert Garrett Hendrix Jr. (born December 16, 1922), known as B. G. (Beagle) Hendrix, was an Arkansas state politician.[1] He served for 34 years in the Arkansas House of Representatives for the Fort Smith[2] district, along with Speaker of the Arkansas House of Representatives from 1989 to 1991.[3] During his time in the house, he was involved in acquiring the first computer for the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith in the late 1960s. He was elected initially to the House in 1962.[4] He also served as the Arkansas Attorney General for a brief period of time before retiring from the house in the 1990s.[5] He currently resides in Fort Smith.
