Avon has a marching band, an orchestra, choirs, show choirs, a dance team and a theatre program.[4]
The marching band was ranked number one in the state of Indiana by the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) in 2001-2007, 2009, 2010 and 2013-2014.[5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15] In 2008, they placed first in the Bands of America Grand National Championships.[16] They were in the 2012 New Year's Day Rose Parade in Pasadena, California.[17]
