The Australia and New Zealand Testing Board (ANZTB) is a non-profit professional association with the purpose of supporting and promoting the discipline of software testing. It was founded in Sydney, Australia in September 2005 when it was admitted to the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) as one of their National Boards.[2]

The activities of ANZTB include:

  • Development and management of examinations against the ISTQB International Syllabus
  • Accreditation of Training Providers
  • Annual conference in Software Testing
  • Free Special Interest Group in Software Testing (SIGiST) sessions
  • Support for Software Testing Professionals
  • Promotion of Software Testing as a career choice

The ANZTB is responsible for preparing and managing examinations for the international "ISTQB Certified Tester" qualification scheme. Examinations are held around Australia and New Zealand on an ongoing basis. The qualifications are based on syllabi, and there is a hierarchy of qualifications and guidelines for accreditation and examination.

The ANZTB offers the following certifications:[3]

(1) ISTQB Foundation CTFL

(2) ISTQB Foundation Agile Tester Extension CTFL-AT

(3) ISTQB Advanced Test Manager CTAL-ATM

(4) ISTQB Advanced Test Analyst CTAL-ATA

(5) ISTQB Advanced Technical Test Analyst CTAL-TTA

The contents of each syllabus are taught as courses delivered by ISTQB Accredited Training Providers. They are globally marketed under the brand name "ISTQB Certified Tester".

After the examination, each successful participant receives the "ISTQB/ANZTB Certified Tester" Certificate.
