Athena Manoukian, is a Greek singer/songwriter of Armenian descent.[1]

Career

Manoukian’s first experience in the music industry was in 2007, when she participated in and won first prize at a talent contest called "This Is What’s Missing" a TV show production of the Alpha Television Network Greece.[2]

A year later, in 2008, she participated in the national pre-selection for the 2008 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the song "To fili tis aphroditis" where she placed third at the Greek National Final .[2][3]

In 2011, Manoukian released her first single named "Party Like A Freak’’ which became one of the biggest hit singles in Europe and has over a million views on YouTube. Following the success of "Party Like A Freak" which was nominated twice for winning an award at the Video Music Awards, in 2012 she released a follow up single "I Surrender" which instantly became the European summer hit of year.

Manoukian also received the Gold Disc for Party Like A Freak and I Surrender.

In 2014, Manoukian released her latest single "XO" published by Warner Chappel / Max Music Scandinavia, which was recorded in Sweden, Stockholm and shot in Australia, Sydney with a successful music video for the song which had huge success in Europe, Asia, Australia and America.[2] She also reached No1 in charts and won the Armenian Pulse Awards competition for Best Song In English. The collaboration of a team behind the likes of Celine Dion, Madonna, Selena Gomez, Ace of Base, Ashley Tisdale, Enrique Iglesias, Ola Svensson, Jennifer Lopez, GLEE and several others involved in the making of this production couldn’t have been better. Everyone was on the same collective and creative wavelength in the making of - XO!

Manoukian had big success in Armenia with her single XO and gained a lot of attention from media.

These days she's doing live shows all over Europe with a spectacular show, performing with her dancers, giving her audience always the taste of perfection!

In September 2018 she appeared as a contestant of X Factor UK. She earned three "yeses" out of four and a ticket for the second round. Louis Tomlinson from One Direction voted "no" but Simon Cowell was quick to respond, "How can you say no to that audition?!".
