Asintado (Lit: Precise) is a Philippine drama television series starring Julia Montes as Ana Dimasalang, a paramedic who became Gael's nurse after saving him in an accident. She becomes entwined in an assassination plot arranged by the del Mundo's and Ojeda's upon witnessing their plan.[1] The show features an ensemble cast with Shaina Magdayao, Paulo Avelino, Aljur Abrenica, Lorna Tolentino, Agot Isidro, Nonie Buencamino, and Cherry Pie Picache.[2] The series premiered on ABS-CBN's Kapamilya Gold afternoon block and worldwide on The Filipino Channel from January 15, 2018 to October 5, 2018 replacing Pusong Ligaw.[3][4][5][6]

Series overview

The tight relationship of the inseparable Ramirez siblings disintegrates when they lose their parents in a fire. The series follows the paths of both siblings, living polar opposite lives. The siblings’ lives are thrust into a world of politics, power and corruption that shake their core values, murder their loved ones and potentially destroy themselves.

Season 1 (2018)

The older sibling Katrina is eager to shed her old life for the gilded world of her rich and powerful adopted parents, as she shuts off the memory of her younger sister; the younger sibling, Juliana does not stop searching for her sister, but she embraces the loving and poor family who adopts her. Their paths cross as young adults but they do not recognize each other. They are in love with the same man, Gael Ojeda. Their conflict becomes more dangerous than just a love triangle and sibling rivalry.

Season 2 (Finale 2018)

Gael’s death changes the dynamics between Miranda and Salvador. Overcome with grief, she cannot forgive Salvador and begins to withdraw from him.

Ironically, Miranda discovers Ana is pregnant with Gael’s child. Recognizing Salvador’s hatred toward Ana, Miranda kidnaps Ana to protect her grandchild, and later discovers that Salvador’s plans to win back Hilary and rescinded his annulment petition. Heartbroken, Miranda plans her revenge against Salvador, though he is a step ahead of her. The battle line is drawn between Salvador and Miranda, and she pays with her life. Salvador kills her mercilessly.

Miranda's death becomes Salvador abaolute downfall. Before Miranda died, she made sure that all the records and evidence than can point out to Salvador's crimes is given to Ana. Miranda's attorney handed all the papers and folders that has all the corrobation of Ana and her family's statement. Finally, Salvador ended up behind bars after attempting to kidnap baby Jay R who is still unborn.

Fate has become generous and give Anna and Samantha a peaceful life with their family and a miraculous gift showered them when Anna gave birth to Baby Jay R. But it all just become temporary when the baby got kidnapped by an unidentified man but as usual, Anna's family always has the assume that Salvador has got to do something with the crime. Once again, one severe test is crawling around them after Natasha refused to return baby Jay R and ran away with him while Samantha is captured by some goons.

Production

Casting

Angelica Panganiban was in negotiations for the role of Katrina Ramirez, but was forced to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. Isabelle Daza was cast at a later point, but then dropped out due to her pregnancy before being replaced by Shaina Magdayao and the character was renamed Samantha del Mundo.[18] JC Santos was initially part of the cast but was pulled out by management for a different project. He was replaced by Aljur Abrenica.[19]

Filming

In July 2017, on Tonight with Boy Abunda, Montes announced the series would begin principal photography in August 2017.[20] On August 1, 2017, Dreamscape publicity head Eric John Salut confirmed the show started filming.[21]

Title Change

The initial title for the series was Victims of Love, however, on September 2017, it was renamed by the management to Asintado.[5]
