Ashton College

Founded in 1998, Ashton College is a private, post-secondary educational institution, with campuses located in the cities of Vancouver and Abbotsford in British Columbia, Canada. The institution has both domestic and international students, with a focus on adult learners and continuing education programs.

History

Ashton College opened in March 1998.[1] Their School of Part Time Studies opened in 2002 and allowed working adult students to qualify for professional designations. That year they also launched an internship program. Two years later, they appointed an advisory board to keep the College up to date on current business trends, curriculum, and to represent the college at certain functions. By 2009 they had launched the following programs: the Human Resources Management Diploma, and the Immigration Consultant Diploma. In 2007, Red Deer, Alberta becomes the newest city to host an Ashton College part-time studies program. The next year, Ashton College becomes a test centre site including hosting the University of Cambridge and Immigration Consulting National Examination. Ashton introduces a Career Services Office to help transition students into the job force.

In recent years, Ashton has launched additional preparation courses for licensing examinations in a variety of professions including the International Business Certificate and the Diploma, Bookkeeping Certificate.

Immigration Consulting

Ashton College's Immigration Consultant Diploma Program is offered to meet the education requirements for practising immigration consultants, and has a longstanding accreditation by the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC)

Accolades

In 2009, Ashton College received praise from the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants (CSIC) for graduating the highest percentage of Immigration Consultant students in Canada.
