Ashta is a city and a municipal council in Sangli district in the state of Maharashtra, India And it is the oldest municipal council in maharashtra. The name "Ashta" is due to Lord Raam established eight (Asht) Lord Mahadev temples in this area. Ashta is a Municipal Council city in district of Sangli, Maharashtra.
