Ashika Ranganath ಆಶಿಕ ರಂಗನಾಥ್ (Kannada) is an Indian actress who works in Kannada cinema. She rose to fame with 2016 film Crazy Boy.[1] in 2016, opposite Dilip Prakash and directed by Mahesh Babu. She then did her next film with Gurunandan, directed by Naresh of first rank Raju fame. She is also part of Shiva Rajkumar's Mass Leader as one of the lead roles and Mugulu Nage starring Golden star Ganesh directed by Yograj Bhat. Now she is currently working for Garuda movie alongside Sidharth Mahesh.[2]

Career

Ashika has no background in films. She is a good dancer and had also participated in dance reality show dance Karnataka & Fresh Face Bengaluru 2014 she was runner-up in both. She began her career as a female lead in 2016 film Crazy Boy. She is currently acting in Mass Leader starring Dr Shiva Rajkumar, Mugulu Nage starring Ganesh and in Garuda. Ashika is now pursuing her bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.com) and shooting for her upcoming projects. After seeing her pictures taken during the fresh face contest, director Mahesh Babu asked her for her debut movie Crazyboy which turned out to be successful, completing 100 days.[3]

Personal life

Ashika's family hails from Tumkur Karnataka, India. Ashika being born in hassan, was brought up in Tumkur. Ashika’s father N. Ranganath is a Civil Contractor and mother B. Sudha Ranganath is a housewife.[4] Ashika has an elder sister R. Anusha who is also an actress. Ashika did her schooling in Bishop Sargant School, Tumkur and moved to Bangalore for her PU. She did her PU in Jyoti Nivas College, Koramangala Bangalore where she auditioned for clean and clear Fresh face Bangalore and emerged as a winner of Miss Fresh face-2014 runners-up. She has also won many district and state level Dance competitions in her tender age. She is trained in various dance forms including freestyle, Bollywood, Belly and western.[5][6][7]
