Asghar Adam Ali (Al Attar) -full name Asghar Adam Ali Ibrahim; a master perfumer[1], businessman and winner of Sharjah Economic Excellence Award 2013 by Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is the Founder and Chairman of Nabeel Perfumes Group of Companies, one of the world's top perfume manufacturers and the largest incense manufacturer in the Arabian Peninsula. He is a nominated member of Sectorial Business Groups representing perfume industry at Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).

Mr. Asghar Adam Ali is a connoisseur of perfumes[2] who possesses extreme adroitness and intelligence at identifying elements and details of scents.

Early days – Perfumery and Passion

Born in Aden, known then as the Golden Bird, in the year 1953, the child prodigy received very little formal education, which he acquired partly in Yemen and India. He is a keen sportsman. Cricket was his passion and he excelled as an all-rounder.  If not for perfumery, he would have been a star cricketer. Spending time at his father’s perfume shop at Bohra Bazaar, Crater Aden and his deep-rooted desire to master the art of perfumery, helped him in refining his god-gifted olfactory senses. His opportunity to exhibit his talents arrived just in time when the board of directors of Nabeel Traders (Group of Companies), Yemen declared bankruptcy. Asghar Ali was not the one to give in to the vicissitudes of time.

An inspired Asghar Adam Ali took over the reins of the company in 1978. With zero liquidity and a sizable amount of bad debts, it was a new innings for him. The factory Nabeel Industries for Perfumes & Toiletries and showrooms Nabeel Traders in Hodeidah were born again. The 3000 sq. ft., factory budded in Yemen has grown into a sprawling 200,000 sq. ft., modernized fully automatic manufacturing facility today in UAE. The successful transformation is all due to the never-quit attitude of Asghar Adam Ali, backed by his hard work, burning ambition, creativity and perseverance.

Honors and Awards

Sharjah Economic Excellence Award[3]

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah awarded Asghar Adam Ali one of the most prestigious awards in the Emirate of Sharjah “Sharjah Economic Excellence Award 2013, at a ceremony held by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry on 2nd April 2014.

Marketing Professional of the year – Best of 2014

Mr .Asghar Adam Ali was in the spotlight for another milestone achievement. On 11th September 2014, Dr. Rashid Alleem, Chairman of SEWA & Founder of Alleem Knowledge Center, in the august presence of senior dignitaries and guests, awarded Asghar Adam Ali the title ‘Marketing professional of the year – Best of 2014’ at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, U.A.E

SEA Business Leader 2014

Mr. Asghar Adam Ali, was honored with the title ‘SEA Business Leader 2014’ by Sharjah Airport International Free Zone for his innovative ideas, including forward-thinking concepts and solutions.

Environmental Performance Certificate

Asghar Adam Ali received the Environmental Performance Certificate awarded by Ministry of Environment and Water, U.A.E, for the year 2013 on behalf of Nabeel Perfume Industries, FZE, Sharjah SAIF Zone for its outstanding environmental performance during 2013 and its efforts to assure sustainable environment.
