Vanda ampullacea, formerly Ascocentrum ampullaceum (reclassified as of 2012 to section Vanda)[1] is a species of orchid found in central China, Assam India, Bangladesh, the Himalayas, Nepal, Bhutan, Sikkim, Andaman Islands, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. An article by vanda expert Martin Motes published in the American Orchid Society magazine provides more information. (Note, the article was published before the nomenclature change, so it uses the old nomenclature. The substantive information remains sound, however.)
