Arpita Mukherjee (born 27 March 1982) is an Indian film playback singer. Mukherjee sang a duet song “More Piya” and featured in the music video along with singer Shaan, which was composed by the trio of Gourov Dasgupta, Roshin Balu and Shaan for YashRajFilms and Yfilms ”loveshots”. Mukherjee won the television singing reality show in Zee TV's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa: Golden Voice Hunt 2003.[1]

Personal life

Mukherjee aspired to become a playback singer from a young age. At the age of six, she started learning music, mainly Hindi film songs, Bhajans, Ghazals and Thumris, Mukherjee's mother Smt Jayshree Mukherji is her first guru. Celine Dion is her favourite singer.[2]

Career

Mukherjee's debut music video "Ye chand" released by crescendo, music was composed by Sukhwinder Singh[3] Mukherjee has lent her voice to a Diwali album, "Deepawali Aayee Re".[4]

Currently Mukherjee is judging on the Grand Jury Panel of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs 2017 on Zee TV and lent her voice for the song Haathon mei Thhe Haath” from the movie Mubarakan starring Arjun Kapoor, Illeana D'Cruz, Athiya Shetty and Anil kapoor.[5][6]
