The Army Deployment Force (ADF) is a Singapore Army high readiness unit that was formed in 2016 in response to recent growing terrorist attacks such as the November 2015 Paris attacks. It currently consists of one battalion staffed by regular serviceman.[1]
History
The Army Deployment Force was officially formed on 12th of July, 2016 in Nee Soon Camp, with about 400-500 personal at the time. The unit was described as being in a high readiness state, ready to respond to any civil emergencies and has been described to be able to respond in minutes. The motto "Always Ready" is in reference to it to be always ready for any situation.
Its first operational mission began in August, 2016, when some members of 1 ADF were sent to Iraq to protect the medical teams sent by Singapore to assist the coalition forces that are in combat with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS). [2]
Role
ADF's main role is to provide rapid response to terrorism by providing support to the Special Operations Task Force (SOTF). However, it can also response to civil emergencies or Peace Time Contingency Operations (PTCO). It is also capable of being deployed for both Peace Support Operations (PSO) and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations (HADR) both in and outside Singapore. [3]

Other then weapons, ADF also uses Water Purification Units (WPU) trucks and the Peace Light Utility vehicle (PLUV). ADF's equipment can vary depending on their tasks. [4]
