Ariful Haque Choudhury is a Bangladeshi politician and mayor of Sylhet city corporation. Arif, also an executive member of Bangladesh Nationalist Party. In 2003, he was elected as commissioner of Sylhet City Corporation.[1]

Early life

Ariful Huq was born on November 23, 1959 in Kumarpara in Sylhet. His father Mohammad Shafiqul Haque Chowdhury and mother Amina Khatun.

Political life

Ariful Haque started his political career as a member of Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Chatra Dal. Which is a part of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party.

Career

He became the mayor of Sylhet city by defeating Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran on June 2013. Arif won the election by more than 35,000 votes.[2]
