Archange Nkumu (born 5 November 1993) is an English semi-professional footballer who plays as either a midfielder or defender for Icelandic club KA.

Club career

Born in England, Nkumu is also eligible for DR Congo. Nkumu joined Chelsea at the age of ten in 2003 and went onto make his under-18 debut during the 2010–11 campaign. Following his debut, he quickly became a prominent figure in the side, featuring in just under fifty games between 2010 and 2012.[2]

By the time Nkumu had turned 18, he'd only featured in just four under-21 games and was subsequently sent out on loan to Yeovil Town in August 2012, to gain first-team experience.[3] Nkumu just made the one single appearance during his one-month spell with the League One side, featuring for 8 minutes in their 4–1 away defeat against Leyton Orient.[4] Just a month after his unsuccessful spell at Yeovil, Nkumu was sent out on loan once again, this time joining fellow League One side Colchester United on a three-month basis.[5] However, following several injury problems, Nkumu's loan was terminated in December 2012 and instead returned to Chelsea without a single appearance to his name.[6]

Following little progress during the 2012–13 campaign, Nkumu was released at the end of his contract in June.[7]

Proceeding his release from Chelsea, Nkumu had numerous trials with Granada, Norwich City and Leicester City,[2] before joining Conference South side Concord Rangers in January 2014.[8] However, as with his spells at Yeovil and Colchester, Nkumu once again failed to make an impact and in turn left the club to join Hendon in March later that year.[9] Following spells at Hendon and Hampton & Richmond Borough, Nkumu moved to Iceland to join second tier side KA prior to their 2015 campaign.[10]
