Archaeophya magnifica is a species of dragonfly in the family Gomphomacromiidae,[2] known as the magnificent urfly.[3] It is a large, metallic-black dragonfly with yellow markings and clear wings.[3] It is endemic to north-east Queensland, Australia.[4] where it inhabits rainforest streams.[5]

Note

There is uncertainty about which family Archaeophya magnifica best belongs to: Gomphomacromiidae,[2] Synthemistidae,[6] or Corduliidae.[7]
