Aram Bajakian
Aram Bajakian (born 1977) is an American guitarist of Armenian descent who has recorded and toured extensively with John Zorn, Lou Reed and Diana Krall.[1] Bajakian received his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he studied under Yusef Lateef and holds a Masters Degree in Music Education from Teachers College, Columbia University and Master of Music degree in Music Composition from the University of British Columbia, where he studied electronic music under Keith Hamel.[2]
In 2011 he released the first album under his leadership Aram Bajakian's Kef on John Zorn's Tzadik Records after being introduced to Zorn by fellow guitarist Marc Ribot.[3] Through Zorn, Bajakian secured work with Lou Reed during his last two tours in 2011 and 2012, in 2013 he performed in Diana Krall's band, and then in 2018 he played guitar for Madeleine Peyroux's touring band.[1][4]
