April Christofferson

April Chistofferson is an American novelist of environmental and political thrillers, including Trapped, Alpha Female, Buffalo Medicine, among others.[1] Beyond her work as a novelist, Chistofferson is also an advocate for “wildlife, wilderness, and social justice”.[2]

Life and work

Christofferson grew up in Chicago, but would spend time every summer with her family in Yellowstone National Park. She continued this tradition with her own children; her son is currently a ranger at the park.[3] Several of her thrillers are set in Yellowstone.[4]

After earning her B.S. from the University of Utah, Christofferson went on to study veterinary medicine before switching to law school. Prior to writing full-time, she also worked as an attorney in the biotech industry, an experience that has informed her fiction (see Clinical Trial).[5] In addition to writing novels, Christofferson has contributed articles to the Yellowstone Discovery, a quarterly published by the Yellowstone Association.[6]
