Antonio Pineda

Antonio Pineda (1751 – 1792 in Manila) was a Guatemalan botanist born to Spanish parents. He was coordinator of the biologists, including Thaddäus Haenke and Luis Née, aboard the expedition of Alessandro Malaspina in the Pacific.[1][2][3]

The flowering plant genus Pineda (Salicaceae) is named in his honor.[4]
