Annu Rani (born 28 August 1992 in Meerut[1]) is an Indian javelin thrower and is the current national record holder.[2] She is supported by Olympic Gold Quest, a not-for-profit foundation that identifies and supports Indian athletes.

Career

Rani, with a throw of 58.83 metres (193.0 ft) at the 2014 National Inter-State Championship in Lucknow, broke the national record previously held by Gurmeet Kaur.[3] With this throw, she qualified for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, with the selection criteria being 58.46 metres. At the event, she finished eighth, with a best of 56.37 meters in the final. In the same year, at the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, she won the bronze medal with a throw of 59.53 meters, bettering her own national record. She Born in Jatt Farmer Family in Dabthuwa Village of Meerut.

In Bhubaneswar in Odisha at the 2017 Asian Athletics Championships Rani took a bronze medal with a throw of 57.32m.[4]
