Anna and the Apocalypse is a 2018 British Christmas zombie musical film[6][7] directed by John McPhail and written by Alan McDonald and Ryan McHenry. The film is based on the 2010 BAFTA-winning short Zombie Musical. The film premiered at Fantastic Fest on September 22, 2017.[8][9] Orion Pictures will release the film in the US in limited theaters November 30, 2018 and expand nationwide December 7, 2018. [10]
Plot
A zombie apocalypse threatens the sleepy town of Little Haven - at Christmas - forcing Anna and her friends to fight, slash and sing their way to survival, facing the undead in a desperate race to reach their loved ones. But they soon discover that no one is safe in this new world, and with civilization falling apart around them, the only people they can truly rely on are each other...

Release
Anna and the Apocalypse had its world premiere in the Fantastic Fest on September 22, 2017.[11] On October 5, 2017 the film had its European Premiere at Sitges Film Festival in Catalonia, Spain.[12] On 10th January 2018, the film was picked up for North American and Latin American theatrical distribution by Orion Pictures, with plans to release it for the 2018 holiday season.[2] The film will be released in the United States on November 30th, in limited release, with a nationwide expansion on December 7th.[13]
Reception
Anna and the Apocalypse had its world premiere at the 2017 Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, where it was met with generally very positive reviews. Review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes gave the film a 90% approval rating based on 21 reviews, with an average rating of 8/10.[14]
Dread Central gave it 5 out of 5 stars, saying that it's "...not just a great movie but a great musical as well."[15]
