After high school, Anna was admitted to the Yaroslavl Medical Institute at the Medical Faculty of the specialty "psychotherapy". At the same time she was fascinated by shaping, which opened the way to the beauties of competition in those years. The first major step was the contest for Anna was "Ford Supermodel of Russia 1993"[3] which was held in Moscow in late November 1992.

In 1993, she took part in the regional competition Miss Volga 1993 where became 1st runner-up and was invited to Miss Russia 1993 pageant where became 1st runner-up again. Then she won the title of Miss Baltic Sea 1994 in Finland and competed in Miss World 1994 pageant in Sun City, South Africa where she didn't place. In 1996, she moved to New York city to start a career as a professional model. In 1998, she was appointed as Miss Russia 1998 and later made it to the Top 10 of Miss Universe 1998 pageant in Honolulu, Hawaii. After the pageant she became a popular socialite girl in New York, and was the face of few commercials and advertising as Chopard and Home Shopping Network.

On 18 May 2010, she was arrested for drugs in New York City: she had stolen drug prescription pad of her doctor (she is a physician herself in Russia though but not licensed to work as a doctor in the USA) to write herself painkiller narcotics.[4][5]

She was arrested again in April 2011 for illegal drugs[6] and released again in October 2013 after rehabilitation.[7]
