Animation Throwdown: The Quest For Cards

Animation Throwdown is a free-to-play card game available on Google Play and the App Store that combines content and characters from 5 cartoon universes from FOX – Family Guy, Futurama, American Dad!, Bob's Burgers and King of the Hill. Gameplay consists of playing cards drawn from a virtual deck from the player's hand to fight against game characters and other users. The player starts the game by picking one of five starting heroes, from a selection of one character from each show. Starter Deck Choices are: Bob (Bob's Burgers), Roger (American Dad!), Brian (Family Guy), Leela (Futurama) and Bobby (King of the Hill).[1][2] The game was released by Kongregate in 2016. Once play begin, you automatically start a tutorial, where you have to fight Peter Griffin. The game is played using a virtual deck of 25 cards from which the player draws five into your virtual "hand". The player must play either character cards or object cards. Once a character card is played on a correct object card, or vice versa, a combo will take place, combining the two cards into a more powerful one.

Adventure Mode

Adventure is a mode where the player battles against the computer. Players must win each level by destroying the CPU's Hit Points, called hearts. Every third level has a different set of opponents from a specific cartoon with the game calling them chapters. For example: Chapter 1 is a Family Guy based scene then Chapter 2 is a Bob's Burgers scene. Currently, there are 32 chapters overall. As players play each level and win, they earn one star for beating the level. They would have to play the same level three times to get three stars. Getting each star is more challenging than the previous one. Players have a limited amount of energy, which recharges over time. It costs some energy to play each round. Players can instantly recharge them using Gems, an in-game currency that can be bought in micro transactions. The player can win cards by attacking a CPU and winning. The player can obtain Common, Rare, and Epic cards in this fashion.

Arena

Arena is a PVP mode where players can increase their PVP Level by collecting trophies, the more trophies, the more of a range the player has of different characters. The more trophies the player has, the harder the game will gradually be. Players can only play for a certain number of rounds before they have to wait for their energy to recharge, players can instantly recharge them using Gems, the in-game currency.

Research

Players can add to their cards' abilities through 2-card combos. To do this, the player must enter the Research mode. Here, players can select two cards to merge (which are able to be merged which will show the available ones to merge, ones that can't merge and the ones that already have merged) and will have to wait for a certain amount of time until they can collect their merged cards. This time can be 1, 8, 24, or 48 hours, depending on the rarity of the resultant combo. The player can use the combo ability in battle by putting a card on top of another card, thus effectively merging them together.

Decks

Here, players can change around their Cards that they would like to use in their deck when playing battles and matches. A deck must be at least 25 cards. Players can also upgrade their cards using Giggitywatts giving them better stats or more abilities. Unwanted cards can be placed in the 'Recycle' section to trade in for 'Giggitywatts'. The player can also fuse cards by max upgrading two of the same card, making a stronger version of that card.

Guilds

Once players reach PVP level 3, they are able to either join a Guild or create one. Guilds have a limit of 50 players each, and provide a bonus to coins gained from other activities based on the number of active members in the guild. While in a guild, you will be able to participate in siege, where your guild must destroy your opponent's islands. The guild with the most amount of points at the finish wins. Also, they introduced inter-guild warfare with the "Rumble" event.
