Andrew Tang (born November 29, 1999) is an American chess player. He was awarded the title of grandmaster by FIDE in April 2018.

Chess career

Tang began playing chess in preschool. He was instructed by IM John Bartholomew as he was growing up. He earned the International Master title in 2014, by winning the North American Junior Chess Championship.[1][2]

In November 2017, Tang achieved his final GM norm and achieved a rating of over 2500 in the Fall 2017 CCCSA GM Norm Invitational tournament (in Charlotte, NC), thereby earning the title of Grandmaster.[3]

Tang graduated from Wayzata High School in Plymouth, Minnesota.[4]
