Andrew Armacost

Andrew Armacost is a Brigadier General in the United States Air Force and the Dean of the Faculty of the United States Air Force Academy.

Biography

Armacost is a native of Glendale, Wisconsin, where he graduated from Nicolet High School in 1985.[1] He later graduated from Northwestern University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Career

Armacost received his commission through the Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps in 1989 and was assigned to the Electronic Systems Center.[2] He later joined the faculty of the Air Force Academy before being stationed with Air Force Space Command in 2007. The following year, he returned to the Air Force Academy was promoted to his current assignment in 2013.

He received his military education from the Squadron Officer School, the Air Command and Staff College and the Air War College.

Awards Armacost has received include the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal with oak leaf cluster, the Air Force Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster and the Air Force Achievement Medal.
