Anastasia Taylor-Lind

Anastasia Taylor-Lind (born 1981) is an English photographer.[1]

Life and work

Taylor-Lind was born in Swindon in 1981.[1] She gained degrees from the University of Wales, Newport and London College of Communication[1][2] where she was under guidance from Ron Haviv.

In 2004 whilst studying for her degree she spent a month in Iraqi Kurdistan photographing female Peshmerga fighters, the Peshmerga Force for Women.[3]

After graduation she worked in Damascus, Syria for The Sunday Times, Marie Claire and The Guardian Weekend.

Her works have been exhibited in the Frontline Club in London, Oude Kerk in Amsterdam and various Fovea exhibitions in New York City.

Her photography depicts women living in the hardships of their surroundings, for example her photographic report on the PKK party in Kurdistan which is known for its female combatants.[4]

In 2014 her work was shown as part of Cortona on the Move, an event in Cortona, Italy, dedicated to travel photography.[5]
