An Elephant Sitting Still (Chinese: 大象席地而坐) is a 2018 Chinese film written, directed and edited by Hu Bo (also known by his pen name Hu Qian). The first and last film of the novelist-turned-director Hu who committed suicide soon after finishing his film on 12 October 2017 at the age of 29, it is based on a story with the same title from his 2017 novel Huge Crack. It made its world premiere at the 68th Berlin International Film Festival.[1][2][3][4][5]

Plot

Four nobodies struggle through another day in their life. They take the long-distance bus to Shenyang to reach the zoo in Manzhouli to see the mythical elephant that sits still and ignores everything around it and find hope.
