American Samoa Department of Education

American Samoa Department of Education (ASDOE) operates public schools in American Samoa, an insular area of the United States. In secondary high schools, there is Samoana High School, Leone High School, Nu'uli Vo-Tech High School, Fagaitua High School, and Tafuna High School. Samoana High School, the home of the Sharks, was the first high school in American Samoa ( est. 1946.) Not long after Samoana opened did Leone High School, the Home of the Lions, open ( 1965.) At the time, Samoana was the largest school on island (800 students), while Leone peaked at 750 students. Leone and Samoana were sheer opponents, given that they were the only pair of high schools at the time. However, the situation changed when Fagaitua High School opened in 1967, making competitions more competitive. It had the third largest population of roughly 500 students. Following Fagaitua High School was the opening of Nu'uli Vocational Education High School ( 1971.) It was the least populous school, even up to now. Its average student enrollment dwindles at 300-400 students. It prioritized engineering students into business. The last high school to open was Tafuna High School (1982), the Home of the Warriors. It is home to the most populated and largest campus on island. Its population measures on average 1,000 plus students. Leone has won the most football championship titles. Tafuna has won the most academic titles out of the primary high schools. Samoana is the oldest high school on island. Nu'uli Vo-Tech is the smallest school in island. Fagaitua is the school with the most sanitary issues.
