American Folk Songs is a 1948 album by Jo Stafford. The original release featured six songs on three 78-RPM discs. Two songs were added in 1950 to its first release as a long-playing record. Since the 1962 re-release, the album has featured twelve popular folk songs.[2][3] The album was not done in a traditional manner; Stafford was backed by Paul Weston's orchestra for all the cuts. The Saturday Review records review column described the album as "of its own excellence.[4]

Judy Collins has cited the album as one of the first to spark her interest in folk music.[5]
