Alyce Burnett (born 11 August 1992) is an Australian canoeist. She competed in the women's K-2 500 metres event at the 2016 Summer Olympics.[1] In 2017 she won her maiden World Championship title in the K1 1000m. In the Under 23 Category she won two Bronze Medals at the World Championships (2014: K1 500 & 2015: K2 500).[2]

Personal

Burnett grew up on the Sunshine Coast. She moved to the Gold Coast in 2013 to train at the Australian Institute of Sport, but still has close ties with the Sunshine Coast, racing for Sunshine Coast Paddle Sport Club in the Kayak and Maroochydore Surf Life Saving Club on the Ski. Burnett's partner is Jordan Wood, who is also an Olympic and World Champion Kayaker. [2]

Work

Burnett graduated from a Bachelor of Communications in 2015, and now works as a Digital Media Strategist. She runs her own business, Mediagenic, and also works for the World Paddle Awards media team as a copywriter and video editor.[3] She is currently completing a Master of Business Administration through Griffith University.[2]
