Alwara Höfels (born 1982 in Kronberg im Taunus) is a German actress. She works both in front of the camera and on the stage.

Life

Alwara Höfels is the daughter of the actors Klara Höfels and Michael Greiling. From 2002 to 2007, she studied drama at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts. From 2006 to 2009, she was part Deutsches Theater Berlin ensemble, working together with the directors Jürgen Gosch and Christoph Mehler.

In 2007 she made her comedy debut in the role of Miriam in the comedy Keinohrhasen by Til Schweiger. It was followed by major and minor roles in television and cinema productions such as Phantom pain, Fack ju Göhte and Mrs. Müller must go! Since 2016, she has been working for the MDR alongside Karin Hanczewski and Martin Brambach as Commissioner in the TV series Tatort.[1] In December 2017, the MDR announced that Höfels after the sixth case "who is now alone" will no longer be battling the Dresden crime scene. According to media sources the actress decided to leave the series due to disagreements with the MDR on the work process.[2][3] Her successor will be Cornelia Gröschel.
