Alison Wright (born 12 July 1976) is an English actress. She is best known for her role on the television series The Americans, for which she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in 2017. Wright's other notable roles were in the film The Accountant (2016), as well as on the television series Sneaky Pete (2015–2018) and Feud (2017).
Early life
Wright was born in Sunderland and raised there by adoptive parents.[1] She began dancing at a young age. She studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute and at The Barrow Group in New York City.[2]
Career
She made her television debut in 2013 as Martha Hanson on The Americans. She was promoted to a series regular for season 2, which premiered in January 2014.[3][4] In 2017, Wright received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her guest appearance in The Americans fifth season.
