Ali Asgar Lobi is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and the former Member of Parliament from Khulna-2 and former president of Bangladesh Cricket Board.[1]

Career

Lobi was elected to Parliament in 2001 as a candidate of Bangladesh Nationalist Party from Khulna-2 in a by election. The seat was won by Khaleda Zia, Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson, in 2001, she resigned from the seat leading to the by election. He owned Hawa Bhaban, the political office of Khaleda Zia.[2] He was He served as the President of Bangladesh Cricket Board from 2001 to 2006. From 2002 to 2004 he served as the president of the Asian Cricket Council.[3] In July 2007 he was sentenced to 13 years imprisonment for corruption by a special court in Bangladesh.[4]
