Alexandru Ioaniţiu

Alexandru Ioanițiu (born 1890 - died 1941) was a Romanian general. He was the commander of the Military Academy in Bucharest (1939-1941). On June 22, 1941, General Ioaniţiu served as Chief of the Romanian General Headquarters on the Eastern Front. He was killed on 17 September 1941 when his plane crashed-landed at an airport in Baden, near Odessa Ukraine, during the Siege of Odessa.

Honors

An alley in the city of Botoșani is named after him.[1]
