Disappearance and Murder

On Tuesday August 9 2016, then 17 year-old, Castillo texted his co-worker Truc Quan "Sandy" Ly Le, 23, saying that he would like to repay some money she had previously loaned him. Le and Castillo worked together at Showmar's restaurant in Charlotte. Le agreed to meet Castillo at a QuikTrip location on Eastway Drive in Charlotte. Castillo was picked up that afternoon by another co-worker Ahmia Feaster in her Dodge Caliber. Le was last seen Tuesday night at the QuikTrip where she agreed to meet Castillo[2], it is believed Castillo forced her to withdraw all the money from her bank account. It is believed that Castillo and Feaster then drove Le to a remote wooded area and shot her in the head, then dumped her body and fled Charlotte in Le's car.[3] The following day, Wednesday August 10 2016, Le was reported missing. On Thursday August 11, Castillo and Feaster were also reported missing.

The following Saturday Feaster's Dodge Caliber was discovered abandoned in Charlotte. That night Castillo and Feaster called their families to tell them they were safe but didn't know where they were. After receiving the phone calls both families believed that the pair were being held captive and were forced to make the phone calls. [4]

On Wednesday August 17 a body was discovered in Northeast Charlotte which was later determined to be Le. On August 16 Castillo and Feaster fled across the border to Mexico, they were caught on surveillance video at the border crossing.[5] [6]Le's car was found abandoned in Phoenix.

In October of 2016, Feaster turned herself into authorities in Aguas Calientes, Mexico[7] and was then extradited back to the U.S. where she was charged with accessory after the fact to murder and larceny of a motor vehicle. Her bond was reduced to $100,000 which she posted and she was released in January 2017. [8] In March 2017 a third person, Felipe Ulloa, was charged with accessory after the fact of murder.

In October 2017, Castillo became the 516th fugitive to be added to the FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitives
