Albanians number up to 100,000 people in Sweden. The vast majority emigrated from Kosovo and Albania.

Organisations

"Albanska Riksförbundet Iliria"(Lidhja e Shoqatave Shqiptare në Suedi) is an Albanian organisation in the Swedish town Borlänge. This organisation is democratic and non-religious. The goals for this organisation is to work for the ethnic Albanian people in Sweden, to integrate them into the Swedish society etc.[1]

Demographics

There is no exact answer to the number of ethnic Albanians in Sweden. According to the Diaspora Ministry of the Republic of Kosovo, Sweden has the best conditions for the Albanian diaspora. Sweden is exemplary in promoting native language Albanian teaching in the country's schools. One of three state cultural centers of the Albanian Diaspora is in Sweden. It is located in the Swedish province of Halmstad. According to the Kosovo-Albanian Diaspora Ministry, there are about 140,000 ethnic Albanians living in Sweden. It is estimated that 70,000 Kosovo Albanians have emigrated to Sweden since the 1999 Kosovo war.

Sport

Albanska Fotbolls Föreningen "Albanska FF" and Rinia Idrottsförenig "Rinia IF" is two Albanian football teams in Sweden.[2]

Media

Radio Dituria is an Albanian radiostation located in Borås.[3] This radiostation represent Albanian culture and traditions.
