Alan Hardy is a former professional rugby league footballer of the 1970s and 1980s. He played at club level for Castleford, as a prop, Hooker, or second-row, i.e. number 8 or 10, 9, or, 11 or 12, during the era of contested scrums.[1][2]

Alan Hardy played left-prop, i.e. number 8, (replaced by interchange/substitute Paul Norton) in Castleford's 10-5 victory over Bradford Northern in the 1981 Yorkshire County Cup Final during the 1981–82 season at Headingley Rugby Stadium, Leeds, on Saturday 3 October 1981.
