Alan Dickinson is a former professional rugby league footballer of the 1970s and 1980s. He played at representative level for Yorkshire, and at club level for Castleford, and Wakefield Trinity (Heritage № 882), as a prop, i.e. number 8 or 10, during the era of contested scrums.[1][2]

Alan Dickinson won a cap playing left-prop, i.e. number 8 for Yorkshire while at Castleford in the 12-12 draw with Cumberland at Whitehaven's stadium on 15 February 1977.[3]

Alan Dickinson played left-second-row, i.e. number 11, in Castleford's 7-11 defeat by Hull Kingston Rovers in the 1971 Yorkshire County Cup Final during the 1971–72 season at Belle Vue, Wakefield on Saturday 21 August 1971.
